Newark, California (Sunday, October 25, 2020)
On Saturday October 24th 2020 at approximately 4:46 a.m., Newark Police Officers responded to a report of a subject with a gunshot wound in the 36800 block of Sycamore Street. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to a lower extremity. Officers and members of the Alameda County Fire Department rendered aid.
The victim, a 23-year-old male resident of Antioch, was transported to an area hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
Newark Police Detectives responded to take lead on the investigation.
Although investigations of this nature can take a substantial amount of time to complete, the detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and where the subject was at when he was shot.
