Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

Suspect: Jose Guadalupe Gaytan, 29-year-old male (In-custody)

On Saturday, October 24th, 2020, at approximately 1:17 PM, Redwood City Police Officers responded to Hoover Park, 2100 Spring Street, on a “911” call of an armed robbery that just occurred. Officers arrived on scene and contacted one of the victims who stated he had just been pistol whipped, and his friend’s gold necklace was stolen. The suspect fled the area and was possibly associated with a gray Land Rover. Officers located the Land Rover and robbery suspect, identified as Jose Guadalupe Gaytan, in the area. Gaytan was positively identified by independent witnesses and both victims, and was wearing the victim’s gold necklace around his neck. A loaded .25 caliber Colt semi-automatic handgun was located at the scene.

Gaytan was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail on several felony and misdemeanor charges, including robbery, assault on a person with a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
