DTE Open House
Dear DTE Energy Customer,
We know the dependability of electricity in your community has been beneath the standard we hold ourselves to, and we apologize for that. We’re working to fix electric reliability issues in your neighborhood and would like to update you about our progress in a DTE virtual open house happening next week.
During recent efforts to create a safer, more reliable energy grid in Washington Township, we trimmed trees near power lines to reduce the likelihood of tree-related outages, which cause about 70% of the time our customers spend without power. We also upgraded a variety of equipment – including power poles and overhead equipment to make our system more resilient. We expect this work to improve the dependability of your electric service, but we’re not stopping there.
Please join us for a virtual open house at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29. Our experts, joined by your Washington Township Supervisor, Dan O’Leary, will discuss the energy grid upgrades we’ve recently completed, and the ones we’ll complete in the future. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

It will start promptly at 6:30 p.m. Can’t join on time? A recorded version will be made available on the Washington Township website at a later date.
If you have questions or comments, but can’t attend, no problem. We’re here to help. Email us at [email protected] and an electric representative will return your inquiry within three business days.
We appreciate your patience and your attention, and we look forward to continuing to serve you.
Thank you,
DTE Energy
