Over several months, there have been multiple shooting incidents across the Metropolitan Detroit area including Harper Woods. Recent incidents, including those at the Eastland Center do not appear to be random, and victims and suspects appear to have known each other.

Thanks to the public, the public safety department is receiving relevant information for each incident and detectives are making progress in their investigations. The public safety department would like to reassure all residents that we continue to prioritize the safety of its community and detectives are also actively working with other law enforcement agencies to identify suspects responsible for the shooting incidents.

With that being said, we still need your help. We can never receive enough information. Residents are encouraged to notify the public safety department if they have information related to these crimes or any others in the City of Harper Woods.
