The San Leandro Police Department has received information regarding possible criminal activity at Bayfair Center this evening – November 3, 2020. This activity, being described as “Bayfair Mall Loot,” is distinct from peaceful protesting and may be associated with criminal activity that occurred earlier this year in nearby cities. At this time, we are unable to confirm if this criminal activity will take place, but we are alerting the community so the residents and businesses can plan ahead. Bayfair Mall will be closing early today and entrances onto the Bayfair Center property will be closed to all traffic. Police staffing will be increased accordingly, and updates will be provided if more information becomes available.
