DATE/TIME: November 3, 2020 2:18 p.m.

INCIDENT: Murder/Suicide Investigation

LOCATION: 7800 block of Day Creek Blvd., Rancho Cucamonga

VICTIM: Tonya Thomas, 48 years old, resident of Rancho Cucamonga

SUSPECT: Tommy Thomas, 44 years old, resident of Rancho Cucamonga

SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 2:18 p.m. Rancho Cucamonga deputies responded to a medical aid call at an apartment complex on Day Creek Blvd. A deputy entered the apartment and found a deceased male and female inside and both appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds.

Due to the circumstances, Homicide Detectives were requested and responded to conduct the investigation.

Homicide Detectives learned Tonya and Tommy were married and lived together in the apartment. Tonya’s family had not seen or heard from her since Saturday and when family members were still unable to reach her by phone, they went to the residence where the couple was found deceased. Based on evidence located at the scene, Detectives determined Tommy shot Tonya and then took his own life.
