Flash Flood Watch until 07:00PM Thursday

The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of central North Carolina, including the following areas, Alamance, Anson, Davidson, Forsyth, Guilford, Montgomery, Orange, Person, Randolph and Stanly.

* From 7 AM EST this morning through Thursday evening

* Rounds of showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected today through Thursday. The rainfall will be heavy at times. Storm total rainfall through Thursday should range between 2 and 3 inches, with locally up to 4 inches possible. This heavy rainfall may result in flash flooding.

* AFFECTED AREAS: ALAMANCE ... ANSON ... RANDOLPH ... MONTGOMERY ... GUILFORD ... PERSON ... ORANGE ... STANLY ... FORSYTH ... DAVIDSON

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
