Deputies arrested a transient, Allen Clark, for committing five armed robberies since June 2020

LOCATION: City Creek near Highland Avenue and Summertrail Place
SUSPECT: Allen Ray Clark, 30 years old, Transient
VICTIM(S): Several retail businesses
SUMMARY:
Between June 20, 2020 and November 7, 2020, five armed robberies occurred in the City of Highland at several fast food restaurants and a gas station. On each occasion, the suspect brandished a silver handgun and demanded money, then fled the area prior to deputies arriving. While investigating these crimes, it was determined in each case the suspect was described with similar characteristics. The businesses affected by the robberies were also determined to be in close proximity, approximately within a mile of each other.
On November 10, 2020, while following up on suspect leads, an area check was conducted in the City Creek area near Highland Avenue and Summertrail Place. A transient camp was found in a densely wooded area and a subject matching the description was detained. The subject was identified as Allen Ray Clark and evidence of the robberies, to include the handgun used, was located at the camp. Clark was arrested for the robberies.
