1 sent to Hospital in Crash

Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports his office investigated a injury crash that occurred on 11-11-2020 at approximately 1807 Hrs. This crash occurred on M51 near Pokagon Street in Pokagon Township, Cass County, Michigan. Emergency personnel arrived on scene and found the driver of the vehicle to be Hilary Schreuder 32 yrs, of Decatur, Michigan. Schreuder was traveling towards Dowagiac on M51 when she crashed into a parked Comcast van, which caused it to crash into a second van. Schreuder was transported from the scene to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries. The workers for Comcast were not in the vehicle at the time of the crash, and their safety lights were activated. Seat belts were worn and alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Deputies were assisted on scene by Pride Care Ambulance, and Dowagiac Fire Department. The crash remains under investigation at this time.
