A missing elderly male from the City of Camarillo, who was considered at risk due to the cold weather, was located alive with the help of VC Alert Emergency Notification System.
On November 9, 2020, an elderly male was reported missing in the City of Camarillo. Numerous resources were utilized to locate this person including patrol deputies, detectives, Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services, and search and rescue volunteers. One of the many tactics used was a notification to the public utilizing VC Alert. This alert prompted a nurse from Los Robles Hospital to call the Sheriff’s Office because she believed the missing person was at the hospital. They provided information of a person who had been transported to Los Robles Hospital for a medical emergency who matched the missing person’s description. An investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and Los Robles Hospital confirmed the person was in fact at the hospital, but under a different name. The notification from VC Alert was the reason this diligent nurse was able to make this vital connection. The missing person’s family was reunited with him at the hospital.
