Please be advised, on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, from approximately 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Jekyll Island Authority will conduct a controlled burn on small patches of forest located on Oleander golf course at the Jekyll Island Golf Club.
The burn does not pose any threat to nearby homes or structures, but the Oleander golf course will be closed for the day. Intermittent closures may be possible for Shell Road due to smoke hazards.
All burn plans have been approved by Georgia Forestry and will be managed and monitored by the Jekyll Island Fire department and the JIA Conservation team.
