Armed Robber Who Made #10 On SHERIFF VICTOR HILL’S Top Ten Captured By Paulding County Deputy On Traffic Stop
James Thomas Lewis who committed two armed robberies in Clayton County was pulled over today for running a red light while operating an Amazon truck in Paulding County. Upon verifying Lewis’s identity, the Paulding Deputy realized he had caught one of Clayton County’s Top Ten Most Wanted.
Lewis first made Sheriff Victor Hill’s most wanted on February 26th, 2019, when he along with a second male suspect entered a gas station located in College Park. While the second suspect stood at the door, Lewis pulled a black-in-color handgun from his pocket and ran behind the counter where the victim was standing. Lewis then pushed the firearm into the victim’s back, demanding him to open the cash register drawer. The victim opened the drawer and placed approximately $100.00 USD in a bag. Lewis then pushed the victim out of the way before fleeing the scene on foot, along with the other male suspect.
On August 19th, 2019, Lewis entered the same gas station and forced his way through the counter door. He presented a firearm in his right hand, and pushed the victim around while pointing the firearm at him. Lewis demanded the money from the register. The victim placed the money in a plastic bag as Lewis continued to push the victim around by the back of his shirt. Lewis then grabbed the bag of money and dragged the victim by his shirt to the front of the store before fleeing the location on foot.
Both incidents were reported in the news, and a tip came in that helped the College Park Police Department identify Lewis.
Lewis is now facing the wall at Georgia’s toughest paramilitary jail a.k.a. ”The Hill-ton”.
