STATE ISSUES LIMITED STAY AT HOME ORDER

Town of Danville Update:  11.19.20

State Issues Limited Stay at Home Order

With the rapid rise in COVID-19 cases across the State of California, Governor Gavin Newsom and the California Department of Public Health today announced a limited Stay at Home order requiring that non-essential work, movement and gatherings stop between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.   This order, which takes effect at 10:00 p.m. on November 21, 2020 only affects those counties which are currently in the purple tier on the state’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy. Contra Costa County is currently in the purple tier and will be affected by this change.

This Stay at Home order is currently set to expire at 5:00 a.m. on December 21, 2020.

COVID-19 case rates increased by approximately 50% in California during the first week of November.  Danville saw a two week 38% increase in positive cases.

In addition to moving most California counties to the purple tier, state government also issued an updated mask mandate and a travel advisory urging anyone entering the state or returning from travel outside the state to self-quarantine for 14 days.  The state is advising against all non-essential out of state travel.
