Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on 11/19/20 at 0705 hours, his office was called to a traffic crash at the intersection of US 12 and Union Rd, in Union Michigan, Porter Township, Cass County. 39 yr old, Constantine resident, Anne Lowry, was westbound on US 12 when she collided with 68 yr old Union resident, Edward Nienow whom was walking across the street. Mr. Nienow succumbed to injuries sustained at the scene. Ms. Lowry was wearing her safety belt. Drugs and Alcohol are not believed to be a factor at this time. This crash remains under investigation
