Updates to the Reopening Safer at Work and in the Community for Control of COVID-19 Order

Effective this Friday, November 20, 2020, the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health (DPH) will tighten the pandemic restrictions as COVID-19 cases continue to increase. These restrictions are to protect the health and safety of our residents and businesses. The revised Order includes the following revisions:

• The number of customers at outdoor restaurants, breweries, and wineries will be limited to 50% maximum outdoor capacity. Restaurants, breweries, and wineries may not be open for in-person outdoor dining and wine services between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., but may continue to serve food for delivery, drive-thru, and carry out during the time closed for in-person dining.
• The number of customers at outdoor cardrooms, miniature golf, batting cages, and go-cart racing will be limited to 50% maximum outdoor capacity.
• Services at indoor operations for retail, office, and personal care establishments will be limited to 25% capacity. Face coverings are to be worn at all times by staff and customers.
o Services that require either the customer or the staff to remove their face covering, such as facials and shaves, are not permitted.
o Food and drinks cannot be served at these establishments to customers.
• Outdoor gatherings remain the only gatherings permitted, and they must only include 15 people maximum who are members of no more than three (3) households.
• All essential businesses must comply with the Social (Physical) Distancing Protocol and all other applicable protocols for its business sector.
• Retail food markets must comply with the new Protocols for Grocery Stores and Retail Food Markets for its business.

Residents, business owners, and employees must continue to observe physical distancing requirements and prevention techniques outlined under the “Reopening Safer at Work and in the Community for Control of COVID-19” Order. Failure to comply with these provisions constitutes a threat to public health and is a crime and punishable by fine, imprisonment, or both.
