Deputies arrest Edward Apodaca of Apple Valley for kidnapping

SUSPECT(S): Edward Apodaca, 42-year old Apple Valley resident
VICTIM(S): 35-year old female
SUMMARY: On November 18, 2020, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to Eva Dell Park after receiving a report of a female being beat in the parking lot, then forced into a vehicle and driven away.
Through investigation, it was discovered the suspect, 42-year old parolee Edward Apodaca of Apple Valley, forcefully removed the victim, his girlfriend, from a bathroom at the park. He forced her into his vehicle and left the area. An extensive investigation was conducted in an attempt to find the victim. After several hours, the suspect and victim were confirmed to be at a residence in Apple Valley belonging to the suspect's family member.
With assistance from Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Division, the suspect and victim were secured just before 8:00 p.m. at a home in the 15800 block of Laguna Seca Drive. The victim claimed to be uninjured. Apodaca was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for kidnapping.
