Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce Honors Montrose Search and Rescue
Each year, the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce takes time to honor personnel from the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station. This year, they choose to recognize the LASD - Montrose Search and Rescue Team for their dedication and service to the community. The C.V. Chamber of Commerce presented the award and letter to Reserve Deputy Douglas Cramoline, the Montrose Search and Rescue Team Leader. Also on hand from the station was Captain Deeds.
Chamber President Michael Riley wrote, "Comprised of dedicated volunteers who respond to calls 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the Team's commitment to safety and service to those in need is known and respected nationwide. During 2020, Montrose Search and Rescue has responded to nearly 150 missions involving lost or injured hikers, evacuation of individuals from vehicles over-the-side or fallen rock climbers." He went on to highlight a particularly busy day for the team. "On September 6th during the "Bobcat" fire, the Team responded to 7 missions as well as 2 vehicle roll-overs. In addition, despite temperatures reaching in excess of 115 degrees, the Team assisted with evacuations of areas along Angeles Crest Highway undoubtedly saving lives and property. Quite a day!"
Crescenta Valley Station would like to thank the C.V. Chamber of Commerce for recognizing the Montrose Search and Rescue Team and their countless hours of service. The chamber will host a virtual ceremony on Thursday, December 3rd at 6PM for the team.
