Kylen Smith, 18, of Highland was arrested during a search warrant for weapons violations

INCIDENT: PC 25400(c)(6)(A) - Possession of a Concealed Firearm
LOCATION: 7400 block of Elm Street Highland
SUSPECT: Kylen Smith, 18 years of age, resident of Highland
SUMMARY:
During the course of a burglary investigation, Highland Sheriff's Deputies obtained a search warrant for a residence on the 7400 block of Elm Street in the City of Highland. Deputies from the Highland Sheriff's Station served the search warrant on December 2, 2020 and the search of the residence yielded a Taurus 9mm handgun with an extended magazine, an AR-15 magazine and a set of brass knuckles. Through investigation, Kylen Smith was found to found to be the possessor of the aforementioned items. Smith was arrested for his weapons violations and booked into custody at Central Detention Center.
