INCIDENT: Attempted Murder

LOCATION: 14400 block of Palmdale Road, Victorville

SUSPECT: Joshua Rodriguez, 31-year old Victorville resident

VICTIM: 30-year old female

SUMMARY:
On December 1, 2020, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to the 14400 block of Palmdale Road for a report of an assault with a weapon. Callers told Sheriff’s Dispatch multiple gunshots were fired from a vehicle, towards another vehicle at the AM/PM before the shooter fled the scene.

Deputies arrived and discovered a 30-year old female had been shot at while in her car. The car was struck several times, rendering it inoperable, but the victim was not hit. Through investigation, deputies identified the shooter as 31-year old Joshua Rodriguez, who is known to the victim.

The suspect was located at his home in the 15500 block of Calgo Lane, where he had parked the vehicle used in the shooting and used a car cover to attempt to conceal it from law enforcement. He was taken into custody a short distance from his home as he was leaving in another vehicle. He was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for attempted murder.
