Effective today, Sunday, December 6, 2020, the County of Los Angeles Health Officer Order will align its mandates with the State of California’s Regional “Stay at Home” Order to further prevent those from different households to congregate and overwhelm the healthcare systems. The Order includes the following additions to the existing Health Officer Order:

• All gatherings with members of other households are prohibited in the Region except as expressly permitted herein.
• All individuals living in the Region shall stay home or at their place of residence except as necessary to conduct activities associated with the operation, maintenance, or usage of critical infrastructure, as required by law, or specifically permitted in this order.
• Worship and political expression are permitted outdoors, consistent with the existing guidance for those activities.
• Critical infrastructure sectors may operate and must continue to modify operations pursuant to the applicable sector guidance.
• Guidance related to schools remain in effect and unchanged.
• To reduce congestion and the resulting increase in the risk of transmission of COVID-19 in critical infrastructure retailers, all retailers may operate indoors at no more than 20% capacity.
• To promote and protect people’s physical and mental well-being in California, outdoor recreation facilities may continue to operate. However, those facilities may not sell food or drinks for on-site consumption. Overnight stays at campgrounds are not permitted.
• This Order does not prevent any number of persons from the same household from leaving their residence, lodging, or temporary accommodation. As long as they do not interact with any number of persons from any other household, except as specifically permitted herein.
• Except as otherwise required by law, no hotel or lodging entity in California shall accept or honor out of state reservations for non-essential travel, unless the reservation is for at least the minimum time period required for quarantine.

Residents, business owners, and employees must continue to observe physical distancing requirements and prevention techniques outlined in the Order. Failure to comply with these provisions constitutes a threat to public health and is a crime and punishable by fine, imprisonment, or both.
