Update to Hit-and-Run Investigation - Vehicle and suspect located.

The suspect vehicle is this case was located in San Jose by the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office. The vehicle was siezed for evidence and the driver was identified.

On December 06, 2020 at about 11:30 AM, Gilroy Police Officers and Fire Department personnel responded to Broadway and Wayland Lane in Gilroy on a report of a male victim, 48, lying on the street. Upon arrival, medical aid was provided to the victim at the scene, and he was transported to an area trauma center for further treatment.
During the investigation, officers were able to determine that the victim was struck by a vehicle, causing major injuries. The suspect vehicle fled the scene prior to police arrival. The suspect and vehicle have not been located. The Gilroy Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) and Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) responded to conduct the investigation.
