Please be advised, on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Jekyll Island Authority will conduct a controlled burn on various small patches of forest located on Oleander golf course at the Jekyll Island Golf Club.
The burn does not pose any threat to nearby homes or structures, but the Oleander golf course will be closed for the day.
All burn plans have been approved by Georgia Forestry and will be managed and monitored by the Jekyll Island Fire Department and the JIA Conservation team.
