The USFS may burn 3.5 acres of hand piles in the Big Jack East Project South of the Sierra Meadows Neighborhood.
The USFS has tentative plans to burn 3.5 acres of hand piles (unit 49) within the Big Jack East project area tomorrow, December 8th as long as weather/smoke dispersal remains favorable. Smoke may settle into the Martis Valley area or other lower elevation areas at night and into the morning as cool air sinks, but will clear out as daytime temperatures rise.
Last week we successfully burned Unit 17 for a total of 16 acres.
