Siren noises around Country Club Plaza being caused by construction. 
We have received reports regarding people hearing the outdoor tornado warning sirens around the Country Club Plaza as far as the Westport area. The sound is not caused by KCMO sirens.
A construction company is doing some masonry work in the Country Club Plaza area, the whine of the equipment sounds quite similar to a tornado siren.
We have been informed that they anticipate working until Friday, December 18th.
