Update to the homicide investigation from 11/27/20

LOCATION: West alley of 1900 C Avenue, National City
Incident Details:
On 11/27/20, at about 0119 hours, Officers from the National City Police Department responded to the west alley of 1900 “C” Avenue, to investigate a report of shots fired. Officers arrived on scene and found 17-year old Ivan Rojas on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds unresponsive. Fire Department and Paramedics performed life saving measures, however, the victim succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
During the subsequent investigation, two suspects were identified and later arrested. Jonathan Cardona Martinez (18-year-old San Diego resident) and Alan Monroy (18-year-old Chula Vista resident) were arrested for the murder of Ivan Rojas. They were arraigned on first degree murder charges and are being held on two million dollars bail.
