Water Main Update: 11:10AM

Power and water remain out of service in the Downtown area due to this morning's water main break, which occurred on the 100 block of East Broad Street at approximately 4:30AM.

NJ American Water anticipates that its repairs could take up to 16 hours. During this time, residents and businesses in areas adjacent to the Downtown should expect decreased water pressure. NJ American Water has advised that a boil water advisory is not in place.

East Broad Street remains closed between North and Central Avenues. It is anticipated that the road will be repaired tomorrow, after the completion of NJ American Water's work to address the broken main.

120-128 East Broad Street have been evacuated, strictly as a precautionary measure, until any potential structural stability issues can be fully determined.

PSE&G anticipates that power will be restored this afternoon to the Downtown area outside of the 100 block of East Broad.

All traffic lights in the area are running on generators, with detours in place as needed to divert cars from the area.
