On December 13, 2020 (Sunday), at approximately 3:42 a.m., personnel from Palmdale Sheriff’s Station responded to a motor vehicle collision near Pearblossom Highway/65^th Street East, which is within the incorporated area of the City of Palmdale.
 
The preliminary facts of this investigation indicate at approximately 3:40 a.m., a 1997 Chevy S-10 driven by the 27 year old male was traveling westbound on Pearblossom Highway in the #1 eastbound lane, against oncoming traffic.  A female adult driver was traveling eastbound in the #1 lane, observed the vehicle driving in her lane, toward her and swerved to avoid the collision.  However the two vehicles collided causing the Chevy S-10 to be pushed into the westbound lanes of Pearblossom Highway, which was subsequently collided into by a semi-truck traveling westbound in the #2 lane of Pearblossom Highway.
 
The 27 year old male driver succumbed to his injuries on scene.  Anyone with information regarding the traffic collision is encouraged to call Palmdale Station’s Traffic Department at 661-272-2400.  The investigation is ongoing.
