Winter Weather Advisory
A major winter storm is set to impact NJ beginning tomorrow afternoon and continuing through Thursday Morning. This storm has the potential to bring up to 12" of snow to the western portion of Monmouth County. Along the coastline we are not expected to receive significant amounts of snow, but we may see of mixture of rain and snow for a majority of the event. Rain is expected to be heavy at times.
Our biggest threat at this time is the potential for coastal flooding and strong winds which may gust over 50 mph. We will see the strong winds during the evening hours on Wednesday. Flooding is expected during high tides cycles on Wednesday at 8:30am and 9:00pm along with Thursday morning at 9:30am. Residents in areas prone to flooding are advised to take necessary precautions.
As with all storms we will be monitoring this event closely and will update residents with any changes.
Residents are reminded to not drive on closed roads and follow posted detours, stay away from downed trees and wires.
