Summary:
On Sunday, December 13, 2020, at about 11:44 p.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Station conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a headlight violation. When deputies approached the vehicle they smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside. The driver did not have a valid ID and gave deputies three different names, all of which were fictitious. Deputies asked the driver to step out of the vehicle and ultimately identified him as Janti Abaza. Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and located methamphetamine, multiple glass pipes, and over $2000 in counterfeit bills. Deputies learned Abaza was staying at a local hotel under a different name. When deputies searched the room, they located multiple debit/credit cards under various names, a fake military ID, multiple half printed bills, and tools used to make counterfeit money, including a printer, ink cartridges, and linen paper.
Abaza was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center where he remains in custody on $25,000 bail. Abaza was also booked on four outstanding warrants from Orange County.
