Following a short pursuit, deputies arrested John Hanson of Pinon Hills for felony evading and outstanding warrants

SUSPECT(S): John Hanson, a 46-year-old resident of Pinon Hills
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at approximately 10:12 am, deputies from the Apple Valley Police department responded to a possible vehicle theft in progress on the 20000 block of South Road. Upon arrival, Deputy Pruett saw a male subject enter a vehicle, and the vehicle drove away. A traffic stop was attempted, but the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. A short pursuit ensued and quickly ended at Thunderbird Road and Ute Road when a PIT Maneuver (Pursuit Intervention Technique) was used. The driver, John Hanson, was taken into custody without further incident. Upon search of the vehicle, gun magazines, ammunition, bulletproof vest, and illegal narcotics were located. A search was conducted along the pursuit route, and three handguns were located.
Hanson was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Felony Evading, two outstanding warrants, including a no-bail parole violation. He is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on December 17, 2020, and is being held on $100,000 bail for Felony Evading.
