Arrest made from the stabbing that took place at the Roadway Inn Motel

TYPE OF INCIDENT: Arrest of Attempted Homicide/Arson Suspect
LOCATION: 300 block of Oxford Street, Chula Vista
Incident Details:
On 12/13/20, at about 0257 hours, officers from the National City Police Department responded to the Roadway Inn Hotel to investigate a report of a structure fire. Nearby hotel residents extinguished the fire and extricated an adult female from inside of the room. The victim had multiple stab wounds and burns to her body. The victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for life threatening injuries. She is currently in stable condition.
During the investigation, Detectives identified the suspect as Jeremiah Dayvon King (28-year-old Texas resident). King had a relationship with the victim.
Today at about 1243 hours, King was seen walking in the 300 block of Oxford Street in Chula Vista. Detectives and officers attempted to detain King, who attempted to flee. Officers detained King and arrested him for the above listed charges. King was booked into County Jail.
The victim continues to remain in stable condition at a nearby hospital.
