Full Notification

On Wednesday 12/17/20 at approximately 1615 hours, Officers with the Town of Beloit Police Department were dispatched to the 2000 block of South Dewey Ave for a welfare check. During the investigation, officers located a suspicious device. Winnebago Explosives Ordinance Disposal (EOD) was contacted and responded to the location. Once they arrived nearby residences where contacted and requested to shelter in place in their basement. The area was secured with assistance from the Rock County Sheriff Office and the device was rendered safe by Winnebago EOD. The incident has been resolved, officers have cleared the scene, and the investigation is considered over at this time. There is no threat to the safety of the community.
