Last night a Riverdale Police Detective gave Sheriff Victor Hill a very special Christmas when he caught the serial robber that a freind of the Sheriff put up a $5000.00 reward for his capture!   The off duty Riverdale Detective Lieutenant was working a part time at Wal-Matt at 7050 Hwy. 85 in Riverdale when Walmart management alerted him of a subject inside the store with a cart full of merchandise. The Detective made contact with the suspect and advised him he needed to make his way to the pay counter.  The suspect approached the pay counter and suddenly took flight on foot out the store. During the foot chase the male subject reached in his waist band and threw a revolver  behind a semi-truck.  The suspect was ran down apprehended and taken into custody.

Upon searching the suspect, the off duty Detective found a book bag, Uhaul Keys, and the shoes from DTLR that were taken from the previous robbery.  A Uhaul vehicle was located behind Walmart that the suspect had been seen in.

The suspect was identified as 35 year Aujanae Wiles who admitted to the robbery of DTLR, Family Dollar on Hwy. 138, and the Panhandle Package Store.  Wiles said he committed the crimes to support his drug habit.

Sheriff Victor Hill has commended Lt. Brandon Criss for excellent police work and for making the annual “catch a robber for Christmas in Clayton County” another huge success.  Wiles is now facing the wall at Georgia’s toughest para-military jail better known as “The Hill-ton”.
