* WHAT...Areas of visibility less than one-quarter mile in dense fog.

* WHERE...Portions of the Southern Sacramento Valley, Carquinez Strait and Delta and Northern San Joaquin Valley Counties.

* WHEN...Until noon PST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Patchy dense fog is forming late this evening in the Sacramento area. Areas of dense fog are expected to expand in areal coverage overnight, and into the Delta, and Northern San Joaquin Valley after 3 or 4 am. Fog is expected to lift in the Sacramento area by or after 10 am Thursday morning.
