Road Closure - Monterey Road and Leavesley Road due to traffic collision 
On December 26, 2020 at 5:50 pm, Gilroy police officers, along with fire and medical personnel, responded to the intersection of Monterey Road and Leavesley Road on the report of an injury accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Upon arrival they found an adult male pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. The male pedestrian sustained major injuries and was transported to a local trauma center.
The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperative. No drugs or alcohol are suspected at this time.
The intersection of Monterey Road and Leavesley Road will be closed until Gilroy’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) completes processing of the scene.
