INCIDENT: PC 29800(a)(1)-Felon in Possession of a Firearm

LOCATION: Baseline Street/McKinley Street, Highland

SUSPECT: Theawan Alexander, 20 years old, resident of San Bernardino

SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Highland deputies conducted a traffic stop on a black 2000's model Buick, near the intersection of Baseline Street and McKinley Street. Immediately after conducting the traffic stop, two passengers fled from the vehicle on foot. The passengers fled into the Casa Del Sol Apartment Complex on Baseline Street and remain outstanding. The driver of the vehicle was detained and identified as Theawan Alexander and he was found to be a felon in possession of an unregistered firearm. Additionally, a bullet hole was discovered in the windshield of Alexander's vehicle.

During the course of the investigation, Alexander was found to have been involved in a car to car shooting near the intersection of Baseline Street and Waterman Avenue in the City of San Bernardino. San Bernardino Police Officers responded to the traffic stop to conduct the shooting investigation. Alexander was arrested and booked into custody for weapons violations and a probation violation.
