Please be reminded that tomorrow, Thursday, December 31st will be the last recycling (paper and cardboard) pickup by Blue Diamond.  There will be no garbage pickup on Friday, January 1st due to the fact that Blue Diamond's contract ends on the 31st and the holiday weekend.  The Department of Public Works will begin solid waste services on Tuesday, January 5th by picking up Christmas trees.  Please have all trees completely de-decorated and placed curbside the evening before collection.  Single stream recycling (all recyclable materials in the green container every week) will be picked up on Wednesday, January 6th.  Garbage will be picked up Thursday, January 7th.  Please place recycling and garbage carts curbside the evening before collection.  Collection will be starting at 6:00 a.m.  Even if a heavy rain occurs during the night the well fitted lids on the carts will ensure that the contents stay dry.  In addition, due to the square base and low center of gravity, the carts will not be tipped over by raccoons, possums, skunks, etc...  Placing containers curbside the evening before collection ensures that pickups will not be missed in the early morning hours.  

Due to the fact that the last garbage pickup occured last Saturday, overflow bags that would not fit into the black 95 gallon garbage cart will be accepted for this pickup only.  Going forward, all garbage must be placed in the black garbage cart.  For those who wish to dispose of them, old garbage cans will be collected every garbage day in January.  Simply place the old can next to the black garbage cart should you wish to dispose of it-no bulk sticker required  It is suggested that old cans in good condition be kept for overflow recycling and vegetative waste.  

Finally, Borough Hall will close at 12:00 Noon tomorrow in observance of New Year's Eve and will be closed Friday, January 1st in observance of New Year's Day.  Borough Hall will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, January 4th.
