...Ice and Snow Accumulations Likely Late Tonight and Friday... .A winter storm system is expected to bring mixed precipitation including snow, sleet and freezing rain northward into central Illinois during overnight and Friday morning. Mixed precipitation will likely continue over areas along and north of a Rushville to Bloomington line into Friday afternoon, where there is the potential of a quarter inch of ice on Friday along with some snow accumulations. The exact track and strength of this storm is not yet certain, but the threat for ice and snow now appears to be likely to bring dangerous travel conditions to central Illinois, as well as possible damage to trees and power lines due to ice accumulation and stronger northeast winds on Friday.
* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations up to a half inch, sleet accumulations between one and two tenths of an inch, and ice accumulations between one and two tenths of an inch.
* WHERE...Portions of central, east central and west central Illinois.
* WHEN...From 3 AM to noon CST Friday.
