...Ice and Snow Accumulations Likely Late Tonight and Friday... .A winter storm system is expected to bring mixed precipitation including snow, sleet and freezing rain northward into central Illinois during overnight and Friday morning. Mixed precipitation will likely continue over areas along and north of a Rushville to Bloomington line into Friday afternoon, where there is the potential of a quarter inch of ice on Friday along with some snow accumulations. The exact track and strength of this storm is not yet certain, but the threat for ice and snow now appears to be likely to bring dangerous travel conditions to central Illinois, as well as possible damage to trees and power lines due to ice accumulation and stronger northeast winds on Friday.
* WHAT...Moderate to heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow accumulations of up to one inch, sleet accumulations of between one to two tenths of an inch, and ice accumulations up to around a quarter inch possible.
