Advisory

Please celebrate responsibly.

DETAILS:
The community’s safety is our mission. The National City Police Department is concerned with the safety and well-being of our community on New Year's Eve. The National City Police Department would like to remind everyone that gunfire and fireworks are not only dangerous but illegal.

Numerous people are injured or killed each year from stray bullets. Remember, what goes up must come down! Please help us in keeping you, your family and our community safe this New Year's Eve. Don't fire a gun in celebration.

Additional patrol officers will be deployed on New Year's Eve to ensure a safe celebration for all to enjoy. Reports of gunfire will be taken seriously and officers will respond appropriately. While our goal is not to dampen the spirit of celebration, anyone engaged in the illegal discharge of a firearm will be arrested. Please help us in protecting our community. Call us at 619-336-4411 to report illegal gunfire.

Don't spend the New Year arrested because of a reckless and dangerous act.
