SATURDAY...
* WHAT...Significant icing, downed tree limbs, and power outages
likely. Total ice accumulations of one quarter to one third of
an inch and wind gusts to 30 mph are expected.
* WHERE...La Salle and Grundy Counties.
* WHEN...From 9 AM this morning to 6 PM CST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the
combined weight of ice and gusty winds. Travel will be
difficult on untreated roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Freezing rain will change to snow across
the area by early evening. Minor snow accumulation of 1 to 2
inches will be possible through late evening before the
precipitation ends.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Travel is strongly discouraged. If you must travel, keep an extra
flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an
emergency. Prepare for possible power outages.
