UPDATE: West Covina Police are now investigating the shooting at Azusa Avenue and Amar Road that occurred on January 2, 2021 as a homicide.

DATE OF RELEASE: Sunday January 3, 2021
On January 2, 2021 at approximately 10:16 pm West Covina Police Department received a call of a
shooting in the area of Azusa Avenue and Amar Road. Officers arrived and found a 29 year old female
suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where she is in critical
condition.
Detectives are actively investigating the shooting. A preliminary investigation appears the victim was
traveling inside a vehicle when gunfire came from another vehicle. Detectives are asking anyone with
information call the West Covina Police Tip line at (626) 939-8688.
