KCMO will conduct the monthly test of the outdoor tornado warning sirens today at 11:00 am.  These tests are conducted on the 1st Wednesday of every month unless there is inclement weather.  The test will last for 3 minutes.

The outdoor tornado warning sirens are designed to primarily be heard when outside of any buildings or structures.  When you hear the sirens, which will usually last for 10 minutes during an actual event, you should immediately seek shelter and learn more information.  NOAA all hazard weather radios, television, radio, and various mobile apps can provide additional information.

The sirens are not sounded for an "all clear" and, thus, a second sounding means another tornado.
