The crew of 40King4 performed a hoist rescue of a hiker who was injured while hiking a trail in Crafton Hills

VICTIM(S): Destiny Nunez, age 21 a resident of Yucaipa
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, January 6, 2021, Cal Fire personnel in Yucaipa requested the assistance of San Bernardino County Sheriff's Aviation for a hoist rescue. The victim, a 21 year-old female, was hiking on a trail when she suffered a leg injury and could no longer continue hiking. Due to the location of the hiker and the inability to access the area by vehicle, a hoist rescue was requested. The crew of 40-King-4 responded to the scene and completed a hoist rescue of the injured hiker. The hiker was flown to awaiting medical personnel and Yucaipa Station deputies at a field near the Yucaipa Regional Park.
