The victim was preparing to go to work and left his 2017 Kia Sportage running to warm it up in his driveway. When he came outside, the victim saw the vehicle, with the back hatch open, traveling down the street. Officer Jackson-Berrios found the vehicle as it was traveling on Hillside Boulevard at Muirwood Drive. The driver collided with three vehicles and a residence, and she ran away from the officer. The suspect, a 17-year old Daly City resident, was booked into the Youth Services Center after she was medically cleared.

The male, a 28-year old Daly City resident, was stabbed five times in various locations throughout his body. He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital.

Scams/Other
PG&E Scam
I have mentioned this scam in the past, and it is once again occurring. On 12-28-20, a 69-year old Daly City resident received a phone call from a male who said his PG&E bill was overdue, and they would cut off his power if he did not pay for his bill. The victim said after their initial conversation, he was transferred to a female who said she was the manager. The victim believed the subjects were from PG&E, and he offered to go pay at the Burlingame location. The subjects said they needed to be immediately paid and told them to purchase a $400 Money Pak card. The victim purchased the card and contacted the subjects. The victim said another subject called later and said the female didn’t have the authority to “compromise the amount he owed” and advised he owed $5,000. The victim became suspicious and called PG&E who advised him he did not have an overdue bill.

Nextdoor.com
Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access to a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try! www.nextdoor.com
