Narrative:
Two suspects are in custody for murder after an altercation resulted in the shooting death of an adult male.

On 1/7/2021, at approximately 10:55 PM, the Sheriff’s Communications Center received a 911 call of a disturbance at the Lamplighter Mobile Home Park in the city of Camarillo. Upon arrival, deputies from the Camarillo Police Department discovered an adult male suffering from a single gunshot wound.  The male was transported to Los Robles Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives from the Camarillo Police Department and Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit responded and began collecting evidence and pursuing leads in the case. The investigation led to the identification of Anthony Garcia and Luis Reyes as the suspects in this crime.  Further investigation led detectives to believe the two suspects fled to Bakersfield, CA.  Detectives obtained a search warrant for a residence in 10100 block of Riata Lane in Bakersfield.

On the morning of 1/8/2021, the Bakersfield Police Department Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team assisted Sheriff’s detectives with serving the search warrant.  Both Garcia and Reyes were located at the residence and arrested.  Garcia was arrested for PC 187 – Murder.  Reyes was arrested for PC 182 – Conspiracy to Commit Murder and PC 32 – Accessory After the Fact.  Garcia and Reyes were transported to Ventura County and booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility in Ventura.  They both remain in custody on $500,000 bail.
