Domestic Violence Suspect Who Attempted To Murder Girlfriend Found Deceased.
SHERIFF VICTOR HILL
Earlier this date at 1:30 a.m. Clayton County Police and the Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic violence call with shots fired in Jonesboro. Upon units arriving on the scene, contact was made with the victim who advised she was involved in a verbal altercation with her boyfriend when he pointed a pistol and fired it at her barely missing striking her in the head before fleeing the scene. A spent shell casing was located inside the apartment and a bullet hole was observed in the wall.
When Sheriff Victor Hill was notified of the incident, he called in his elite Panther Unit to orchestrate a manhunt for the suspect and find shelter for victim. A 12 hour manhunt for the suspect ended at 2 p.m. today when he was found with an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound to the head behind a building a few miles away from the crime scene.
