Night closures on I-10, McClure Tunnel & PCH in Santa Monica begin Mon, 1/8 
On Monday night, January 11, Caltrans begins construction on a project to upgrade the tunnel lighting system and install a queue warning system at the McClure Tunnel on Interstate 10/Santa Monica Freeway (I-10) and State Route 1/Pacific Coast Hwy (PCH) in Santa Monica.
Initial overnight full closures of the McClure Tunnel and nearby on- and off-ramps beginning January 8 include:
- McClure Tunnel - Closed in both directions from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM
- Westbound I-10 - Lincoln Blvd/Olympic Blvd on-ramp closed from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- Eastbound I-10 - 4th St on-ramp and Lincoln Blvd. off-ramp closed from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- Eastbound PCH - Ocean Ave off-ramp closed from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM
Closures are weather-permitting and subject to change. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternate routes during construction hours.
Additionally, motorists can view current traffic closures before they leave for their destination by visiting the Caltrans Quickmap (www.QuickMap.dot.ca.gov).
This project is anticipated to be completed in Spring 2022. Updates will be posted when locations and/or dates and times of closures change.
