Press Release: Motor vehicle stop leads to arrest of subject for possession of controlled dangerous substances

ACCUSED: Male, Age 55, Eatontown, NJ
NARRATIVE:
On January 14, 2021 at approximately 11:44pm Sgt Brad Kerney was on routine patrol in the Borough of Interlaken when he observed a vehicle with an equipment violation. Sgt Kerney conducted a motor vehicle stop of the accused vehicle on Corlies Ave in the Township of Ocean. Further investigation conducted by the officers involved revealed the accused subject to be in possession of controlled dangerous substances, prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The accused was transported to Deal Police Headquarters for processing and charging in accordance with bail reform guidelines. Accused was charged with possession of CDS cocaine, possession of CDS crack cocaine, possession of CDS paraphernalia, possession of certain prescription drugs. The accused was further charged with an equipment violation, expired registration and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. The accused was released on a criminal summons pending a court date.
