Full Notification

The First Selectman's office has received notification from Homeland Towers that they will be conducting their visual fieldwork at 16 Coote Hill Road, Sherman, CT (the proposed site) on Saturday, January 23, 2021, with an inclement weather date of Sunday, January 24, 2021.  In the event of inclement or windy weather, the test will be conducted each consecutive weekend thereafter until the visual test is completed.  The visual test is in connection with Homeland and AT&T’s pending application to the Connecticut Siting Council for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need for the construction, maintenance, and operation of a 170’ wireless telecommunication facility at the Site.
 
The visual test will commence around 8:00 am or anytime thereafter during the day and will continue for a few hours, weather permitting. The visual test at this location will consist of an approximately four-foot diameter brightly colored balloon being floated on a tether line to a maximum height of 170 feet above ground level.  It should be noted that the Site is private property and members of the public are not permitted to enter the Site.  Please reach out to the First Selectman if you have any questions.
 
*Saturday and Sunday’s (January 23 & 24) is forecast to be exceptionally windy, so there is a significant chance that this might be postponed until January 30.
